Is Counselling For Me?

There are many reasons why you might want to come for counselling, and I can help in a number of different situations, I have experience in working across a wide range of issues and am happy to discuss options available. I offer a free initial phone consultation so you can decide if it feels like a good fit.

Mental Health Issues - I work with many 'common' mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety. There are almost 1 in 4 people affected with a mental health issue at any one time in the UK. Despite this, it can feel very isolating. I am here to support you in this and offer a safe environment to explore what this means for you.

Life Crisis - a recent bereavement, separation or upheaval can be very distressing and disorienting. Grief is a common feeling that can come up in many of these situations and life can feel very overwhelming. Whatever the situation, I am here to guide and support you in this process.

Pregnancy, Post-Natal & New Parenthood - Becoming a parent is a life changing experience, and despite it being quite a common experience for many, the difficult emotions that can often be felt are not easily spoken about. I am here to help you explore these feelings in a safe and non-judgemental space.

I also work with more complex issues such as childhood trauma, PTSD and addiction. I understand the sensitive nature of this work and so when working within these areas, I believe that it is important to work gently with my clients and only go at a pace that feels safe for you.
